During the Easter and Anzac Day Long Weekends, the Western Australian Police will be issuing Double Demerits for the following offences:
- Speeding
- Drink or drug driving
- Failing to wear a seatbelt and child restraint
- Running a red light
- Illegal use of a mobile phone while driving
- Drive a motor vehicle fitted with a device designed to evade detection by a speed camera (14 demerit points)
- Drive a motor vehicle in a manner to evade detection by a speed camera (14 demerit points)
Double demerits will be active from Thursday, 17 April to Monday, 21 April 2025 and then again from Thursday 24 April to Sunday, 27 April 2025.
These measures are in place to encourage safe driving during the long weekends.
